We’re incredibly grateful to The Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties (CPARC) for once again trusting Marroquin Exteriors with another roofing project for their organization. Their continued confidence in our team means a lot, especially when a project like this one is challenging and requires careful planning, extensive preparation and multiple roofing systems.
This multi-story building in downtown Mechanicsburg was experiencing a major leak on the second floor. After investigating the existing roof system, it became clear that the problem went much deeper than the simple leak repair we were expecting at the start of the project. The existing roofing materials had been installed improperly, creating significant issues that needed to be addressed before a new roof could be installed. And, although correcting the leaking was top priority, we also wanted to alleviate any other issues that could arise from the original faulty roof installation.
A Complete Roofing System Replacement
To properly correct the problem, our team had to tear the existing roofing system back and re-sheet the entire building. This provided a solid, properly prepared surface for the new roofing systems and allowed us to address the underlying issues rather than simply covering them up. We didn’t want to just put a bandage over something we knew we could completely fix for them; we wanted to get to the root of the problem.
The completed project included both EPDM rubber roofing and asphalt roofing systems. We installed a full Elevate/GenFlex EPDM system along with Owens Corning product lines, creating a durable combination of roofing systems designed to provide long-term protection for the building. And of course, the chosen products ensured that the building was aesthetically pleasing, as well.
Projects like this require more than simply installing a new roof. Working on a multi-story building in downtown Mechanicsburg requires careful attention to the existing structure, proper preparation and experienced crews who understand how different roofing systems work together.
